Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy and EMDR
Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy, also known as Core Process, is an integration of Buddhist psychology and Western Psychotherapy, which understands that awareness is transformative. Through the support of the therapeutic relationship awareness of our own nature enables an opening into change and healing, so that suffering can be eased as we allow spacious, compassionate acceptance to emerge.
Danielle has been trained in working with the body, developmental and attachment issues, relationship difficulties, and trauma.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing) is a therapeutic model that specialises in working with traumatic experiences including; anxiety and mood disorders, PTSD and phobias.
Mindfulness Psychotherapy and EMDR help clients to meet difficult emotions, painful feelings and traumatic experineces in a more contained way. Through resourcing, presence and the practice of dual awareness (exploring the past whilst being in the present) clients can avoid merging with, or re-living the painful memories and experiences.
Danielle supports clients in working with embodied sensations, bringing awareness to the body's subtle reactions and feeling tones, in the moment. This exploration of self is done in relationship and Danielle provides a safe and confidential holding environment for the client to be deeply heard and seen.
She believes that through becoming more intimately aware of ourselves, our patterns of attachment and our previously hidden reactions and behavioural responses, we can open into a more self accepting way of being.
This relational psychotherapy can also help to ease self-critical thoughts, feelings and judgements. As we learn to meet ourselves with gentleness and compassion change can occur, allowing a greater sense of connection in ourselves, our relationships and our experinces of being human.
An initial meeting through zoom is offered free of charge for up to 45 minutes, this is an opportunity to meet and find out if you would like to begin Psychotherapy.
Danielle see's clients on a weekly basis, for one hour sessions.
